Potent limonoid insect antifeedant from Melia azedarach.
Systematic fractionation of a fruit extract from Argentine Melia azedarach L., which was monitored by an insect antifeedant bioassay, led to the isolation of meliartenin, a limonoid antifeedant, which existed as a mixture of two interchangeable isomers. At 4 microg/cm2 and 1 microg/cm2, the isomeric mixture was as active as azadirachtin in strongly inhibiting the larval feeding of Epilachna pae...
متن کاملElectrochemical reduction potential correlation of some insect antifeedant potent 2-phenothiazinyl chalcones
A series containing twelve substituted styryl 2-phenothiazenyl ketones have been synthesized. The electrochemical potentials of carbonyl and vinyl groups were measured. These potentials are correlated with Hammett substituent constants, F and R parameters. From the results of statistical analyses, the effects of substituent on the group reduction potentials have been discussed. The insect antif...
متن کامل6-Bromo-2-naphthol–piperazine (2/1)
In the title compound, 2C(10)H(7)BrO·C(4)H(10)N(2), the piperazine (pip) mol-ecule displays a chair conformation and is linked to two mol-ecules of 6-bromo-2-naphthol (bno) via O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds. Weak N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds from pip to bno mol-ecules result in chains propagating in [100]. The chains inter-act via C-H⋯π inter-actions.
متن کامل2-Bromo-4-chloro-6-(cyclohexyliminomethyl)phenol
The title compound, C(13)H(15)BrClNO, was prepared by the condensation of equimolar quanti-ties of 3-bromo-5-chloro-salicyl-aldehyde with cyclo-hexyl-amine in methanol. There is an intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond in the mol-ecule. The cyclo-hexyl ring adopts a chair conformation.

The title mol-ecule, C(8)H(6)BrNS(2), is almost planar with a dihedral angle of 0.9 (1)° between the benzene and thia-zole rings. The values of the geometry-based index of aromaticity (HOMA) and the nucleus-independent chemical shift (NICS) for the two cyclic fragments of the title mol-ecule are 0.95 and -9.61, respectively, for the benzene ring, and 0.69 and -7.71, respectively, for the thia-z...
